As a part of their goal to be carbon negative by 2030, Microsoft has released an update on their progress. In late 2021, Microsoft started to use more Post-Consumer Recycled resins in their Series S consoles and controllers. Their gift cards are also being upgraded to use paperboard instead of plastic. Additionally, the Energy Saver sleep mode on the Series X|S consoles has been improved so that system and game updates can be downloaded while sleeping. The Energy Saver mode is now the default selection when setting up the consoles for the first time. The ultimate goal is to have Xbox products, accessories, and their packaging to be 100% recyclable by 2030. If you're not currently using Energy Saver on your Xbox, you can activate it here:

Settings->Sleep Mode & Startup->Sleep Mode->Energy saver.
