Steam Machine Pricing Revealed

Well, we've finally got the prices for the upcoming Steam Machine and they'll start at $1049 USD for a 512GB model. The site, viewable here: https://store.steampowered.com/sale/steammachine, currently lists four options. There's 512GB and 2TB options and then those versions with a controller. At the top end that puts the price at $1,428. And to top it all off, they're doing the sales as a waitlist. Sign up before June 25th to be put in the initial list, which will then be randomized so it won't be first come first served. Miss the cutoff? You can still sign up for the waitlist, but you'll be at the very end behind everyone else in the June 25th cutoff. Curious what's under the hood?
