Quick Thoughts: Hi-Fi RUSH

I'm still pretty early in Hi-Fi RUSH, but what I've seen so far is pretty amazing. This rhythm-based action game by Tango Gameworks looks like a cartoon and the characters are wonderfully animated. And I don't mean just mean as in how they're drawn, I mean the personality that the characters have. Seeing main character Chai dancing around thinking he's on a stage or even his little facial animations add a lot to the character by showing how over the top he can be instead of just telling us. This is how you build a good character, let us see how expressive they can be. Equally amazing is the voice work with actors such as Robbie Daymond and Misty Lee bringing to life the characters of Chai and Rekka respectively. They bring a lot of energy to their roles and it further helps to breathe life into these characters. And of course, you can't have a rhythm game without catchy music to drive you on. The game delivers here as well and even includes licensed tunes from bands such as Nine Inch Nails and The Black Keys. If you're planning on streaming the game, don't worry, they have a special streamer mode to replace the songs with originals tunes.

Hi-Fi RUSH is available via GamePass for Xbox Series X|S and PC or for purchase for $29.99 USD.
