Pokémon GO Mega Evolution Update

A change has been made for Pokémon GO Players in Australia and New Zealand to Mega Evolving Pokémon. Aside from most Mega Raids being easier, Mega Evolving can now occur in the raid and battle prep screens. The biggest changes, however, are the new Mega Levels and updated Mega Evolve costs. Eligible Pokémon now have a Mega Level and the more you Mega Evolve them the more it'll go up. Each level comes with new bonuses such as increased chances to earn Candy XL or XP for Pokémon matching the type of your Mega Evolved Pokémon. As for the Mega Evolve costs, those have changed to be a mostly one-time fee. Under this new update, Mega Evolving will still cost Mega Energy, but after that first time it'll be used to speed up the Pokémon's rest period instead. That means once you pay the initial upfront costs, you can wait for your Pokémon to recover and then Mega Evolve again for free. Eventually this update will be released globally, but no dates have been revealed yet.
