Nintendo has announced today that My Nintendo Gold Points will no longer be accrued starting the end of March. March 24th to be exact. That doesn't mean your Gold Point balance will go away, the original rules still apply and Gold Points will be valid for one year after earning them. The change in Gold Points is effective not only for game purchases, but also purchases at Nintendo New York. There is no change in Platinum Points, however. You can see the announcement in full here: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/67660/kw/gold%20points%20discontinued
